NPW Faribault, MN 1/26/2007

Northstar Premier Wrestling returned to Spikes Bar and Grill in Faribault, MN with a card that featured former WCW star Norman Smiley.
Arya Daivari beat the 'Main Attraction' James Thomas with the magic carpet ride. Arya's big brother must have taught him that move very well.

The NPW tag team champions Zero Tolerance, The Black Stallion & John Johnson, were going to defend the belts against a new team to NPW, Diego Corleone and Esteban Molina. But only Esteban made it to Spikes bar. He announced that he did find a partner and out came Shimdog who has been missing from the midwest pro wrestling scene for the last few months. Zero Tolerance won the match and kept the belts.
Joey Envy became the new NPW cruiserweight champion when he beat JB Trask.
NPW heavywight champion Big Daddy Hoofer w/James Thomas beat Mitch Paradise to retain the title.
The O'Neill Twinz beat Aaron Corbin and Norman Smiley in the main event of the night.

MPW training center shut down

MIA:Sheriff Johnny Emerald
On January 2, 2007 trainees at the Midwest Pro Wrestling Academy learned that Sherif Johnny Emerald/Terry Klinger shut the place down without notice. This is the blurb that was on the MPW website that told about the training camp.

"Midwest Pro Wrestling Academy is nationally recognized and has trained WWE, NWA/TNA, ROH and indy wrestling talent now wrestling throughout the country. Our staff are professionally trained, experienced and certified. Midwest Pro Wrestling Academy was established in 1999 and has graduated over 50 students. We are fully insured and registered with the State of Minnesota as well as documented with the federal government. Hours of operation, class schedules and tuition payment plans are available to meet each students needs. Numerous camps and clinics are available throughout the year taught by nationally known trainers. Midwest Pro Wrestling puts on monthly shows at First Avenue in downtown Minneapolis right next to the Target Center..."

Ummm yeah. Lot's could be said about that paragraph.

NIW Amery, WI 01/07/07

The first pro wrestling card of 2007 that I photographed was at Norther Impact Wrestling in Amery, WI this last Sunday. Rob Page was the ref for all matches on this night.
Arik Cannon beat Aaron Corbin with the glimmering warlock. Durning this match both men went to the outside and Cannon hit one of the loudest chops on Aaron that I have ever heard. Starting next month you will be able to see Cannon on MTV's Wrestling Society X on Tuesday nights (and may more times in replays).
The Prophet retained his NIW Impact championship against Darin Corbin, Venom and Trent Jones. This was scheduled to be a singles match with just Prophet and Corbin but Venom came out and asked to be included in the match. That lead to Jones coming out and making it a 4 way.
Rob James beat Ryan Cruz. It was announced that the winner of this match would get a spot in the 2007 Impact Invitational so it looks like Rob James is the first man in the tournament. Before he gets in to that tourny he better make sure his shoes stay tied.
Chris Jordan beat Kid Krazy to win the NIW Universal title. I think this is Jordans first singles title since he held the ACW heavyweight belt a few years ago.

Other matches from this card were
Bret O'Brain beat Kamakazi Klecker
Malikite/Ryan Stone Vs Bobbi Mafi/Sean Slade ended in a no contest when Chris Jordan interupted the match.
