F1RST Wrestling Minneapolis, MN 1/25/2008

After a five month hiatus F1RST Wrestling returned to First Ave in downtown Minneapolis. The club was packed as on the card were former WWE wrestler/manager Daivari and current TNA wrestler ODB both of whom are from the Minneapolis area and they both have had many matches in First Ave. Also scheduled on the card were two hard core matches with 4 of the top wrestlers in the area.
The opening match was a 6 man tag that had some very fast high flying action. The team of Nate Bash, Benjamin Sailer & Zero Kincade defeated Kamikazi Klecker, Bret O'Brian & Venom (announced as Small, Medium and Large).
The Black Stallion defeated Aaron Corbin in his debut match for F1rst Wrestling.
ODB returned to First ave to beat Ann Brookstone. A camera man from channel 9 was there doing a story on ODB that might air some time soon.
Pete Huge beat Brody Hoofer in a falls count anywhere match with some help from a masked Joey Envy. This match went all over First Ave as they even went into the legendary night clubs men's room as seen here in the photo.
Arik Cannon defeated Joey Envy by submission. Cannon tried something he learn on his trip to Japan, a moonsault, but he was unable to connect with it.
The Daivari brothers, Shawn & Arya defeated the Northstar Express as Shawn Daivari pinned Darin Corbin after a magic carpet ride.
In the main event Cody O'Neill pinned Rob James on a pile of thumb tacks in an Anarchy Rules match. This one had it all for all the hard core fans.

MIW Chanhassen, MN 01/19/2008

My first card of 2008 was this last Saturday night at the Chanhassen American Legion as Minnesota Independent Wrestling packed the house.

The first match of the night was for the MIW heavy weight championship as champion Big Brody Hoofer took on former champion 'Playboy' Pete Huge. With a little outside help and a low blow, Huge won the belt.
In the second match of the card Chase McCoy defeated Arya Daivari.

Thoruf Marius defeated Darrel Hall. This was my first time seeing Marius in action since his training in Japan with Pro Wrestling Noah.
Mickey McCoy defeated Benjamin Sailer. McCoy had helped Huge earlier in the night so Huge returned the favor for McCoy. This set a tag team match for the main event that the fans demanded.
Matt Burns pinned Mitch Paradise.
Brody Hoofer & Benjamin Sailer defeated Pete Huge & Mickey McCoy. For the tag team main event commissioner Terry Fox made the stipulation that if Hoofer pinned Huge then he would win the MIW title back. Brody pinned Huge so he is once again the MIW heavy weight champion.
