3XW Des Moines, IA 1/27/2012

This past Friday night 3XW held their “Divide & Conquer” card at All Play – Baratta’s Forte Ballroom in downtown Des Moines. It’s been a year since I last made my way down highway 35 to 3XW. I really like the new set up that they have at this place. Next to the entrance ramp there is a ‘jumbo-tron’ where entrance videos and promos are shown.
The opening match was a rematch from the finals of  the 2011 King of Des Moines which took place back in August 2011. The King of Des Moines Ryan Slade pinned Zach Thompson.
Gage Octane & Casanova with Todd Countryman defeated Barry Ryte & Ray Stryker. The rookies Ryte & Stryker were no match for the members of Genesis. At least I think Ryte & Stryker are rookies because I’ve never seen them before.
Miss Natural pinned Stacy O’Brian. This was the first match for these two at 3XW. Last time I saw Miss Natural was back in 2004 at First Ave when she team with Angel Williams (aka Angelina Love) to take on O.D.B. & Josie.
Ricky Kwong with Chad Mylan pinned Sir Bradley Charles. SBC was distracted when some anarchist appeared on the ‘jumbotron’ and Kwong rolled him up for the three count.
3XW Heavy weight champion Mark Sterling defeated Maddog McDowell with Skylar Pierce to retain the title. After the match Sterling put the boots to McDowell. Jon West came out to save his American Bulldog tag partner but ended up getting beat up by Sterling.
3XW tag team champions “The Professional” Benjamin Sailer & “Everyones Favorite” Nate Bash (American Ground & Air) VS “Rock N Roll” Mike Sydal & “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell went to a time limit draw. Rockwell had Sailer in a Boston crab when the 15 minute time limit expired. This was a non title match.
Jaysin Strife pinned “The American Fury” Jon West with Skylar Pierce. West was holding his sore neck from when he got beat up by Sterling earlier.
“Torturous” Tony Sly defeated “Delicious” Devin Carter with Todd Countryman.
The main event was an NWA World heavy weight championship match between champion “Scrap Iron” Adam Pierce and challenger “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt. The fans in Des Moines thought they saw the NWA title change hands on this night. The first ref was knocked out of the ring. Wyatt make Pierce tap out but no ref was in the ring. Mark Sterling came out to help Pierce but Wyatt tossed him out. A new ref came out and Wyatt got the pin on Pierce. But no, the first ref got up and and said that he saw Sterling hit Pierce with a spear so Wyatt was DQed. So the title was given back to Pierce.

F1RST Wrestling Minneapolis, MN 2/24/2008

F1RST Wrestling returned to First Ave night club in downtown Minneapolis on a Sunday night. The name for this card was No Love Lost.

In the opening match "The Professional" Benjamin Sailer pinned Kamikaze Klecker with his 'hand gernade pin' suplex. You might have to have Sailer explain it to you.
Arya Daivari beat Nate Bash, Venom and The Prophet in a 4 corners match. Both Daivari and Bash got pins at the same time as Daivari hit his magic carpet ride and Bash hit his 450 splash. They went for 5 more minutes in hopes to have one winner.
"6% Body Fat" Rob James pinned Shane Hollister.
Brody Hoofer beat Joey Envy and Pete Huge w/Allison Wonderland in a 3 way match. After Hoofer got the pin on Envy he challenged Huge to a dog coller match next month.
Tyler Black defeated Jaysin Strife.

SkullKrusher Rasche pinned Thoruf Marius. After these two did a superplex from the top rope I could almost hear Bobby Heanan yelling 'the ring just moved 10 feet!!!!'.
The Northstar Express defeated Arik Cannon & Cody O'Neill in what was billed a sudent vs teacher match. After Cruz got the pin on Cannon all four were attacked by Aaron Corbin, Daivari, James and Envy. The locker room cleared out and every wrestler was in the ring, except for Marius and Rasche.

3XW Adel, IA 10/27/2007

3XW held Halloween Horror II on Saturday October 27th, 2007 in Adel, Iowa at the Dallas county fair grounds community center.
Ryan Slade & the Welfare Check Connection defeated Jimmy Rockwell, Ricky Kwong & Brady A. Dezire. I was surprised to see the cow pants that Dezire wears in the locker room as it's been about 3 years since I've seen him up in Minnesota with MPW.

3XW cruiser weight champion Casanova beat Shane Hollister to retain the belt.

3XW Pure Wrestling champion Maddog McDowell defeated Krotch to retain the title.
Bryce Benjamin beat Dan Lawrence to win the new 3XW Alternative title in a hard core match. Benjamin didn't actually wrestle in this match as he had an injured shoulder. Ryan Slade, Aaron Masterson and Zach Thompson did all the wrestling for Bryce and that was ok as this this was a hard core match and there are no DQ's in a hard core match.

The Northstar Express retained the 3XW tag team title in a ladder match against Nate Bash & Benjamin Sailer.
Jaysin Strife beat Stephen Saint.

3XW heavy weight champion Devin Carter defended his belt twice in one night as he first defeated Knight Wagner then Mark Sterling.

Gage Octane beat Brain Ash in a looser leaves 3XW match.

AWA RUSH Mankato, MN 10/12/2007

AWA RUSH held their one year anniversary card this last Friday but unfortunatly it was their last card as well. RUSH owner/promoter Mike "Gator Magraw" Kinney retired from wrestling this summer and he now decided to retire from wrestling all together and close his promotion. Although during some of the times he got on the mic he did make it sound like RUSH might return next year.

Arya Daivari pinned Casanova after a magic carpet ride.

Cory O'Neill pinned Gage Octane after a standing spanish fly.

Arik Cannon pinned Brody Hoofer after the glimmering warlock.

Devin Carter pinned Aaron Corbin with help from the ropes to retain the AWA RUSH YouTube title.

Professionaly Dangerous (Jaysin Strife & Benjamin Sailer) beat the Junk Squad (Peter Huge & Kleck Michaels) to win the AWA RUSH tag team titles.
AWA light heavy weight champion "Krazy K" Kirby Mack retained his title against Matty Star as they were both counted out of the ring. Every promotion that is a member of the AWA must have an AWA title defense in their promotion at least once a year. Because of that RUSH brought in Mack to defend his title against the winner of the Grapple Cup tournament that was held last month. Promoter Gator Magarw announced that this was the first time an AWA title was defended in Minnesota since 1991 when the old AWA shut down.
The Black Stallion retained his AWA RUSH heavyweight championship against Shimdog.

AWA RUSH Mankato, MN 9/22/2007

AWA RUSH presented 'Grapple Cup', an 8 man tournament to decide who would face the AWA light heavyweight champion on the first anniversary card in October 2007. This card took place at the Eagles Club on a Saturday night. My camera was now fixed and this was the first card I was able to make it to in over a month. Before the first bell Gator Magraw got on the mic and announced that all AWA RUSH DVD's and t-shirts were on sale for $5. I guessed that it was a 'going out of business' sale and just today I learned that that was a correct guess. RUSH owner/promoter Gator Magraw announced today that AWA RUSH would run one more card then it will be done.
The opening match was between Kleck Micheals and Arya Daivari. Micheals tag team partner Pete Huge was at ring side and he got involved in the match. Arya won by DQ.
Jaysin Strife ran in to save Daivari from the two on one beat down by the Junk Squad. That lead to the frist round match between Stryfe and Pete Huge. Stryfe got the win with a roll up after Huge bumped into his partner.
Shimdog beat Casanova to move onto the second round. Casanova is now without the mullet that he has that broke my camera.
Mike Rollins made his RUSH debut but lost to Matty Star. Before that match Magraw stated that if Starr lost then he would have to buy a beer/soda for everyone in the crowd.
Brody Hoofer beat Cory O'Neill in the last first round match.
Matty Starr defeated Brody Hoofer with a little help from Casanova to move on to the Grapple Cup final and once again get out of buying everyone beer/soda.
Shimdog moved on to the finals as his opponent Jaysin Strife was DQed when the Junk Squad attacked Shimdog.
Devin Carter retained his RUSH YouTube championship against Benjamin Sailer.
Black Stallion beat Aaron Corbin to win the AWA RUSH heavyweight title. This was Stallions first match in RUSH.
Matty Starr pinned Shimdog to win the AWA RUSH Grapple Cup. Referee Rick Reed was hurting a little too much to notice that Starr was using the ropes to get the pin. Starr will now face AWA light heavyweight champion Kirby Mack on October 12, 2007 on the AWA RUSH's last card.

F1RST Wrestling Minneapolis, MN 7/15/2007

This last Sunday F1RST Wrestling returned to First Ave for a card that was titled 'Unfinished Business'. Making a guest appearance on this night was Nora 'Molly Holly' Greenwald.
In the opening match Cody O'Neill beat Arik Cannon with a roll up. O'Neill came to the ring with WCCO 830 radio personality Dark Star and the lovely Venus de Milo. Star was with O'Neill because he heard about all the problems O'Neill was having with Rob James. Unfortunately Star and de Milo were no help as O'Neill was once again attacked by James and Horace the Psychopath. Cannon came back to the ring to help his long time rival and they set up the main event for the night as Cannon & O'Neill would take on In Shape & Insane (James & Horace) in an Anrarky rules match.
In the Onion match of the night, The Prophet won a 4 corner match as he pinned Zac James who debuted at F1rst Wrestling. Also in the match were Kleck Micheals and Nate Bash.
In a brother vs brother match it was the younger brother Darin who beat his older brother Aaron.
It's very rare in pro wrestling when promotions work together. On this F1rst Wrestling card the AWA RUSH championship was on the line as champion Joey Envy took on challenger Jaysin Strife. Not only did AWA RUSH have their senior ref Tad Taylor officiate the match but they also had their ring announcer Levi do the introductions. Envy retained his title winning the match with a super kick.
Arya Daivari came out and got on the mic to rip on the U.S. troops in Iraq. Daivaris words got a few fans really upset as some challenged him to step out of the ring. Instead Daivari issued an open challenge to anyone in the back. Out came Ryan Cruz waving the U.S. flag. After Daivari missed the magic carpet ride Cruz hit his boomshakalaka for the win. Too bad the war in Iraq can't end that easily.
'Playboy' Pete Huge beat his long time rival Brody Hoofer with a little help from his manager Allison Wunderland and his belt buckle. These two started in the biz together over 8 years ago.
Arik Cannon & Cody O'Neill beat In Shape & Insane in the anything goes anarky rules match. This match was very bloody as 3 of the wrestlers bleed enough to fill a few bags for the Red Cross. Cannon gave James a burning hammer to get the pin after James was put though a table with an O'Neill double stomp off the First Ave stage.
