On the morning of this event Extreme Pro Wrestling Radio did a pod cast with a live audience. In the studio were guest Jerry Lynn and Tommy Dreamer. Lynn and Dreamer answered questions from EPWR host Big D and Isaac and then from the fans. You can listen to the pod cast by clicking here.
Luke Hawx, Scot Summers and Perry Saturn defeated Aaron Corbin, John Johnson & Arya Daivari in a 6 man tag match. Saturn pinned Daivari to get the win. This was Summers and hawx first time in MN.
Black Stallion with manager Mago beat Rhino by count out. Mago was interfering in the match so Rhino chased him outside the ring and forgot about the 10 count. After the match Rhino speared Mago.
Blue Meanie & Al Snow defeated Renny D & Craven Knyte. Snow hit Knyte with Head to get the pin. Referees really need to ban Head from ring side.
Sabu defeated Arik Cannon in an Anarky Rules match.Sabu cut Cannon open with some international object. It was 20 years ago and just a mile away from this venue when I first saw Sabu live. He wrestled the Lightning Kid (soon to be know as the 1-2-3 Kid in the WWF).
Darin Corbin defeated Tommy Dreamer in a hard core match. Yep, you read that right.
HOW champion Benjamin Sailer defeated Adam Pearce to retain the title. Pearce pulled a chain out of his boot and tried to use it on Sailer but Sailer go a hold of it and used it to win the match. The crowd was unhappy with Sailer for cheating to win.
The main event was Jerry Lynn’s last match. It was a four way match against X-Pac, JB Trask and Horace the Psychopath. These 4 guys, all over the age of 40, went all out in this match. They did dives out of the ring, broke tables and dented garbage cans. Lynn got the win after he gave Horace a cradle pile driver.

After the match all the wrestlers and HOW crew got in the ring to congratulate Lynn on his great 25 year career. JB Trask presented Lynn with a Heavy On Wrestling Hall of Fame award. This event will be available on DVD from RF Video. I've been doing this blog for over 7 years now and I thought this would be a good time to end it. So with this being Jerry Lynn's last match it will also be my last blog on here.

SDW Hopkins, MN 7/7/2012

Steel Domain Wrestling is back. After many years of not running regular shows SDW has now had two events this year. I missed their first on which took place back in April. This event took place last Saturday night at the Hopkins Pavilion. The Pavilion is an ice arena and this event was a fund raiser for the Hopkins hockey program. This event was filmed live for an ippv and is still available for viewing on the SDW web site.
The show started with announcer Mick Karch and SDW promoter Ed Hellier greeting the live crowd and ippv viewing audience. They then brought out Honky Tonk Man for an interview. HTM was interrupted by his opponent for the night, Mitch Paradise. Lucky for Karch and Hellier, the two wrestlers did not get into a fight right then and there.
In the opening match “Bulldog” Sammy Savard pinned Matt Classic. Lot’s of old school wrestling in this match. These two were so old school they didn’t even have entrance music.
Heather Halberg with her husband Jeremy Halberg defeated Miss Natural. This was a rematch from the SDW event back in April.
Benjamin Sailer & Renny D defeated Mikey Wipeout & Robbie Thunder. Renny pinned Wipeout after this top rope/on the shoulders cross body block.
Arya Daivari pinned Ryan Cruz after a super kick. This was another rematch from the last event. The fans gave this match a “this is awesome” and “Yes! Yes! Yes!” chants.
After intermission Mick Karsh interviewed AWA legend Baron Von Raschke at ring side. Dan Jesser came out and claimed that it was his interview time. The Baron had enough of Jesser so he gave Jesser the claw.
Craven Knyte defeated Rob James.
Honky Tonk Man pinned Mitch Paradise. HTM got the pin with a fast 3 count from referee Jay Soltis. Paradise had the fast count coming to him as he was roughing up Soltis.
NWA heavy weight champion Colt Cabana retained the title against challenger “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce in an “I Quit” match.This was match three in a best of seven series called “Seven Levels of hate”. Pearce undid one of the top turn buckles and used it to choke out Cabana. Referee Jay Soltis call the match but Cabana did not say ‘I Quit”. Cabana woke up and demanded that Pearce get back in the ring and finish the match. Pearce said “I Quit” while Cabana had him in the move pictured here. Cabana now leads the series 3-0. (I just checked out Cabana’s wikipedia entry and read that he started his pro wrestling career in ROH. Well, a few years before ROH was even around Cabana was wrestling in SDW along with Adam Pearce, current TNA champ Austin Aries, Ken Anderson, and CM Punk. Can’t believe anything on the wiki.)

3XW Des Moines, IA 1/27/2012

This past Friday night 3XW held their “Divide & Conquer” card at All Play – Baratta’s Forte Ballroom in downtown Des Moines. It’s been a year since I last made my way down highway 35 to 3XW. I really like the new set up that they have at this place. Next to the entrance ramp there is a ‘jumbo-tron’ where entrance videos and promos are shown.
The opening match was a rematch from the finals of  the 2011 King of Des Moines which took place back in August 2011. The King of Des Moines Ryan Slade pinned Zach Thompson.
Gage Octane & Casanova with Todd Countryman defeated Barry Ryte & Ray Stryker. The rookies Ryte & Stryker were no match for the members of Genesis. At least I think Ryte & Stryker are rookies because I’ve never seen them before.
Miss Natural pinned Stacy O’Brian. This was the first match for these two at 3XW. Last time I saw Miss Natural was back in 2004 at First Ave when she team with Angel Williams (aka Angelina Love) to take on O.D.B. & Josie.
Ricky Kwong with Chad Mylan pinned Sir Bradley Charles. SBC was distracted when some anarchist appeared on the ‘jumbotron’ and Kwong rolled him up for the three count.
3XW Heavy weight champion Mark Sterling defeated Maddog McDowell with Skylar Pierce to retain the title. After the match Sterling put the boots to McDowell. Jon West came out to save his American Bulldog tag partner but ended up getting beat up by Sterling.
3XW tag team champions “The Professional” Benjamin Sailer & “Everyones Favorite” Nate Bash (American Ground & Air) VS “Rock N Roll” Mike Sydal & “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell went to a time limit draw. Rockwell had Sailer in a Boston crab when the 15 minute time limit expired. This was a non title match.
Jaysin Strife pinned “The American Fury” Jon West with Skylar Pierce. West was holding his sore neck from when he got beat up by Sterling earlier.
“Torturous” Tony Sly defeated “Delicious” Devin Carter with Todd Countryman.
The main event was an NWA World heavy weight championship match between champion “Scrap Iron” Adam Pierce and challenger “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt. The fans in Des Moines thought they saw the NWA title change hands on this night. The first ref was knocked out of the ring. Wyatt make Pierce tap out but no ref was in the ring. Mark Sterling came out to help Pierce but Wyatt tossed him out. A new ref came out and Wyatt got the pin on Pierce. But no, the first ref got up and and said that he saw Sterling hit Pierce with a spear so Wyatt was DQed. So the title was given back to Pierce.

SDW Lakeville, MN 5/1/2010

This past Saturday night at the Lakeville South high school Steel Domain Wrestling returned to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area for the first time in over 5 years. Promoter Ed Hellier put on this "One Night Only" event for the Lakeville, MN high schools to raise funds for the grade 9 sports.
The first match of the night was a tag team match between coaches from Lakeville North and Lakeville South. The team from Lakeville North won the match and a trophy.

After the tag team match Mick Karch and Ed Hellier did a TV taping opening. Karch then introduced George Schire who then introduced The High Flyers, Greg Gagne & "Jumping" Jim Brunzell. As Gagne and Brunzell were reliving their past as AWA tag team champions they were interrupted by Mitch Paradise & Adrian Lynch.

In the official first match of the night Brain Ash defeated Gage Octane. The last time I saw these two wrestle was October 2007 in a looser leaves 3XW match. Ash lost that match and left the ring for over 2 years.

Mitch Paradise & Adrian Lynch defeated Horace the Psychopath & Red Lighting. Ann Brookstone was the referee for this match.

After the match Lynch got on the mic and called out Greg Gagne. Lynch said Greg was old and a coward. Gagne came to the ring showing now fear and he was attacked by Paradise while Lynch distracted him. Gagne got the upper hand by giving Lynch a back body drop and a drop kick to Paradise's face. Growing up I was a big fan of the High Flyers and really liked their drop kicks. It was quit a thrill to be at ring side photographing a Gagne drop kick. If you've ever seen the movie The Wrestler staring Vern Gagne you know that no one gets up after a Gagne drop kick.

Two former ROH champions faced each other in the next match. Jerry Lynn got the 3 count on Austin Aries after a cradle piledriver.

Former SDW wrestler Primetime defeated "The Law" Mark Barker in his first SDW match.

Two more wrestlers making their SDW debuts competed in the next match. Chadwick Wentworth the 3rd defeated Cpl. Julio Julio.

In the semi main event WWE's Bam Neeley (Magnus Maximus in SDW) took on current NWA heavy weight champion "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce for the vacated SDW championship. Neeley got Pearce to put the NWA belt on the line for this match. During the match Neeley tossed Pearce over the top rope and according to NWA rules that is a DQ so the NWA title stayed with Pearce.

The main event for the night was a lumber jack/hair cut match. Representing Lakeville North was "Playboy" Pete Huge with Austin Aries leading the North football players/lumber jacks out side the ring. Lakeville South was represented by Brody Hoofer in the ring and Jerry Lynn on the outside. The coach of the loosing side would have to have his head shaved after the match. Hoofer got the win for Lakeville South but in heel fashion the coach from Lakeville North made one of his football players get his hair cut instead.

NWA Pro Cottage Grove, MN 10/15/2006

NWA Pro made it's first trip to the midwest with one show in Wisconsin on a Saturday night and then in Cottage Grove, MN on Sunday night October 15, 2006. They ran at card at the same armory that has been used by Neo Pro and NIW. The card was made up of mostly local MN wrestlers and a few from California.
In the opening match Arik Cannon defeated T.J. Perkins. Perkins is one of the NWA Pro guys making their MN debut.
Babi Slymm defeated Karl Anderson w/Mr. Vander Pyle & Adam Pearce by DQ. The match ended when Slymm was attacked by Pearce which lead to the DQ win for Slymm. Arik Cannon ran out to help Slymm and then challenged Pearce and Anderson to a tag match later in the night.
Rocky Romero beat Kid Krazy.
The O'Neill's got the win over Aaron Corbin & Joey Envy. This match was scheduled to be the O'Neill's VS two guys from WI but they were unable to make it to MN so they were replaced with two guys the O'Neills were very familer with.
Puma beat Chris Jordan. This was Puma's first match in MN as he took on one of the top MN wrestlers. Puma won with a roll up.
Babi Slymm & Arik Cannon beat Karl Anderson & Adam Pearce after a double chair shot. This was Pierce's first match in MN since his days in Steel Domain Wrestling.
