Flash Back Friday: DCW Minneapolis, MN 8/13/2003

For this Flash Back Friday we jump back to a time when First Ave events were on Wednesday nights and mostly free. I'm not sure who won or lost in these matches I didn't take notes or make sure that I photographed the ref raising the winners hand.

El Viejo VS John Johnson. James "Moose" Thomas was the jeans wearing ref for this match. Not sure if Thomas had started wrestling before this or if he was still training. When he started wrestling it was under the name Tommy Gunn.

 "The Genuine Article" Chris Jordan defeated Christian Moore. This was Moore's first pro match after training with Terry Fox and Eddie Sharkey. Others that trained that summer with Moore were DOS, Josie, Rob Page and Big Mac. Moore wrote about this match in chapter 9 of his autobiography "Being Moore: my life in professional wrestling". This same photo can be seen in that book. The most interesting thing about this photo is Jordan's gear.

 DCW womans champion Josie defeated Rain. Terry Fox was the referee.

 "Playboy" Pete Huge VS Kaos,AKA Cody O'Neill. Looks like Huge was wearing shorts but still not showing any part of his legs.

DCW champion Black Stallion defeated  Lenny Lane.

Black Stallion defeated John Johnson in a strap match.

Ryan Cruz won a 5 man elimination match against Renny D, Apostle 13, Kody Rice and  Zero Kincade

Lenny Lane pinned Ariya Daivari to win the PTW heavy weight championship.

 



PTW Bloomington, MN 1/25/2013

Prime Time Wrestling at the Bloomington, MN Knights of Columbus on Friday night January 25th, 2013.
Apostle 13 defeated Lucha Kid in the opening contest.
Zero Kincaid pinned Skylar Huck.
Renny D defeated John Johnson.
Body Beautiful (Mitch Paradise & Billy Blaze) defeated Lenny Lane and Mikey Wipeout. Lane left 
PTW champion Black Stallion defeated Ryan Cruz and Arya Daivari in a 3 way dance to retain the title. Stallion pinned Daivari for the win.

PTW Bloomington, MN 10/26/2012

Prime Time Wrestling was back at the Bloomington, MN Knights of Columbus this past Friday night. One of the high lights of the October event was the kids costume contest.
John Johnson defeated Benjamin Sailer in the opening match. This was Sailers debut match for PTW. Last month Johnson knocked some popcorn out of an old fans hand. This time that fan kept yelling ‘you owe me popcorn!”. All I could think of during the whole match was the paperboy in the movie “Better off Dead”.
Mikey Wipeout and Apostle 13 once again wrestled without a clear winner. This one ended in a double count out.
Next up was a tag team match between Mitch Paradise & Zero Kincade and Billy Blaze & Magic Man with Tiger Lilly. This match came about when Kincade came out with an anti bullying sign. He got in the ring and talked about being picked on for being a nerd. Out came Blaze to say that he liked picking on nerds. Then Magic Man and Lilly came out followed by Paradise. In the end Magic turned on Blaze, Paradise turned on Kincade and Lilly turned on Magic.
Ryan Cruz defeated Lenny Lane. After the match Lane and EPRW’s Crisco attacked Cruz. Crisco’s EPRW’s co-host Big D came out to help Cruz but he ended up getting whipped with Crisco’s belt.
PTW champion Black Stallion pinned Renny D to retain the title. Stallion is now the undisputed champion.

PTW this Friday night in Bloomington, MN

 Prime Time Wrestling returns to the Bloomington, MN Knights of Columbus this Friday night, October 26th, 2012. PTW champion Black Stallion will defend his title against Mitch Paradise. Also scheduled to appear are Lenny Lane, Mikey Wipeout and Apostle 13.

PTW 9/28/2012

Prime Time Wrestling returned to the Bloomington, MN Knights of Columbus for their second season this past Friday night. The night started with Commissioner Tobin introducing the new PTW champion Renny D. Tobin then brought out Black Stallion and John Johnson, the two wrestlers who would compete in a ‘golden ticket’ match. The winner of the golden ticket match would be able to cash that golden ticket in on any PTW event for a championship match. Lenny Lane then came out to take credit for the golden ticket match idea.
In the opening match Ryan Cruz defeated Arya Daivari with Lilly. Daivari was ready to hit Cruz with a super kick but he tripped on a broom left in the ring by Dorrian the janitor. So after the match Daivari challenged Dorrian to a match next month.
Mikey Wipeout VS Apostle 13 ended in a draw. As the referee counted the pin both wrestlers had their shoulders down.
The Executioner  defeated Dorrian the janitor with a mendable claw like choke out. As The Executioner was ready to pick up Dorrian for a chock slam he started freaking out. Not sure what that was all about.
Lenny Lane defeated PTW champion Renny D to become the new champion. This was Renny’s first title defense and he was cheated out of the title by special guest referee Crisco who made a fast 3 count.
Black Stallion defeated John Johnson to win the ‘golden ticket’ match.
Lane Lane came out after the ‘golden ticket’ match. He announced that he forgot to mention that the champion could also decide when the holder of the golden ticket could cash it in. So Lane brought out his buddy Crisco to ref this championship match against Black Stallion. Crisco’s Extreme Pro Wrestling Radio partner Big D got tired of seeing the one sided officiating that was going on in the ring. Big D then got in the ring and hit Crisco with the title belt. Stallion gave Lane a boot to the face and Big D made the 3 count. That made Stallion the new PTW champion.

PTW Bloomington, MN 5/25/2012

Prime Time Wrestling held their last card of the season at the Bloomington Knights of Columbus this past Friday night. PTW will be taking the Summer months off and return to action in the Fall.
In the opening match Ryan Cruz defeated Arya Daivari.
El Bano defeated The Brauler in a deportation match.
PTW had a contract signing with KC hall general manager Jim Rasmussen to renew their contract for another year. Next to Rasmussen and PTW commissioner Tobin are Extreme Pro Wrestling Radio host Big D and Crisco.
Mikey Wipeout pinned John Johnson. This was Wipeout’s return to the ring after being out with an injury for a few months.
Wipeout and Johnson both had valets for there match. Johnson, subbing for Robbie Thunder,  was with Tiger Lilly. Wipeout was with new comer Delanie Neal seen in the red, white, and blue on the floor.
Mitch Paradise won the ‘hair VS hair’ match against Magic Man. In order to get an edge over the bigger Paradise, Magic Man had Rainmaker at ring side to help him out. Rainmaker turned on Magic Man causing Magic Man to loose the match. Magic Man was held in the chair by Ryan Cruz and Mikey Wipeout as Paradise cut his hair.
Before the main event there was a poetry contest. Rick was pick from the crowd to read his poem against Billy Blaze’s poem. The fan were then asked which one they liked better. The fans cheered more for Rick’s poem but Lenny Lane said Blaze was the winner because they booed more for Blaze. Not only is Rick a really great poet but he is also a great web master. The Black Stallion & Chiropractor DC defeated Lenny Lane & Billy Blaze. Big D was the special guest enforcer referee because of all the cheating Lane has done to win his matches..In this tag team match Lane’s PTW heavy weight title was on the line. If Lane or Blaze were pinned then who ever made the pin got the title.
Chiropractor DC became the new PTW heavy weight champion when he pinned Lenny Lane.

PTW Bloomington, MN 4/27/2012

Prime Time Wrestling was back at the Bloomington Knights of Columbus for their monthly show this past Friday night.

The first contest of the night was an arm wrestling match between The Brauler and El Bano. The contest ended when The Brauler poked El Bano in the eye. I think The Brauler was really intimidated by El Bano’s Over the Top hat. Some guy from the I.N.S. came in to the ring to announce that El Bano did not have a green card so he was taking El Bano back to Mexico. The PTW commissioner got in the ring and asked the I.N.S. guy if he could pay El Bano’s bond to keep him in the country until next months card when they will have a looser get deported match.
Magic Man defeated Chris Dorrian after Dorrian hit his head on the ceiling beam.
Magic Man thought that his match with Dorrian was so easy he challenged the next wrestler who walked out of the locker room. Magic Man was so confident that he could beat anyone that he said he would cut off his hair if he lost. Mitch Paradise was the next wrestler to walk out. Magic Man changed his mind about wrestling Paradise right then but said he would wrestle him next month if Paradise beat The Executioner. Paradise did beat The Executioner by tap out.
The Black Stallion defeated Robbie Thunder with Lilly. Thunder got some help from Lilly but she got a little too involved while she was on the ring apron when The Black Stallion pushed Thunder into her.
PTW champion Lenny Lane pinned Renny D. Lanes feet were on the ropes and ref Rob Page did not see it. Page should really go to a doctor to get his eyes checked.

PTW Bloomington, MN 2/17/2012

Prime Time Wrestling returned to the Knights of Columbus in Bloomington, MN this past Friday night.
The first match of the night was between El Bano and The Brauler. The match was declared a draw when PTW champion Lenny Lane came out and stopped the match. Lane did set up a rematch between El Bano and The Brauler for the next event on March 30th. But first they did a push-up contest. The Brauler won that contest as Lane prevented El Bano from doing more push-ups.
In the second match Arya Daivari pinned Mitch Paradise. Daivari was about to be chock slammed when he hit Paradise in the nuts.
The next match was originally scheduled to be an inter-gender tag team match pitting  Robby Thunder & Tiger Lilly  against The Black Stallion & Jordana K. For some reason Stallion was replaced by Renny D and it was no a singles match. But if Renny D won then Jordana K would get 5 minutes against Lilly. Robby Thunder got the three count over Renny D after the code breaker.
Ian Xavier & Udo defeated The Rainmaker & The Black Stallion. Magic Man was scheduled to be Xavier’s partner but he was injured so Udo replaced him. The Rainmaker tagged himself back into the match and was pinned. Stallion didn’t like The Rainmaker tagging himself in so he left the ring area. Xavier, Udo and Magic Man then put boots to ass until Chris Dorrian came out to help Rainmaker. This set up a tag team match for the March 30th event.
PTW champion Lenny Lane retained the title against Chiropractor DC. The match was first awarded to DC when he got the three count on Lane. But when the referee raised DC’s hand brass knuckles fell to the mat and the referee then awarded the match to Lane.

PTW Bloomington, MN 1/20/2012

Prime Time Wrestling returned to the Knights of Columbus in Bloomington, MN for their monthly shows. On this card PTW would crown their first champion.
The opening match was to determine who would face Lenny Lane in the main event for the PTW championship. Chiropractor DC defeated Magic Man to earn the the championship match. Magic Man was with out his hairdresser on this night but he still had his can of hair spray.
The Executioner defeated Chris Dorrian.
The Rainmaker came out for his match. While his music was playing it changed to “The Candy man”. It was Magic man who had the music changed. While The Rainmaker was distracted, Ian Xavier came out and gave The Rainmaker a big splash. The Black Stallion came out to save The Rainmaker.
After The Black Stallion saved The Rainmaker he challenged Ian Xavier to an match but Magic Man said he had a different opponent in mind. Out cam Robbie Thunder with Tiger Lilly to take on Stallion. When Lilly came in the ring to help Thunder Jordana K came out to attack Lilly. For some odd reason referee Willy Mack awarded the match to Thunder by DQ. This was Jordana’s first time in the ring. It’s nice to see some new females in the Minneapolis area. Hopefully both Lilly and Jordana will be around for awhile.
John Johnson pinned Cpl. Julio Julio. As you can see in the photo here Johnson had his feet on the ropes to get the pin but ref Willy Mack didn’t see it. But Mack reversed his decision when Johnson beat down Julio after the match. So Julio got the win by DQ.
Lenny Lane became the first PTW champion when he pinned Chiropractor DC. The fans were teased at the start of the match when DC pinned Lane and special guest senior referee Rob Page counted 3. But Lane pointed out that the bell had not yet rang for the match to started. Boy did Page look dumb. DC tapped to to Lane’s boston crab to make Lane the champion.
