The PTW January Big Show started off with a 10 bell salute to former indy wrestler Prime Time Stevie.

Prime Time, also known as Sweet Stevie and Prime Time Lumpkin, died the week before this event. He started wresting in 1997. I believe his last time in the ring was at a PWA event in June 2014.

Special guest for the PTW Big Show was Jerry Lynn. He came out the ring to talk to the fans and it was announced that he was the guest commissioner for the night.

Big Sepp pinned Ariya Daivari. These two are in the middle of a best of five series. After this match it stands at Daivari 2 Sepp 1.

Craven Knyte pinned DOUG.

Danny Duggan with manager Dan Jesser pinned Scott Story with valet White Star.

PTW Calhoun champion Darin Corbin defeated Black Stallion in a street fight to retain the title.

Wild Cat & Farmer Frog defeated Body Beautiful (Mitch Paradise & Billy Blaze) and Zero Gravity (CJ Esparza & Brett Gakiya).

New PTW tag team champions Cat & Frog.

Stacy Shadows pinned Sweetheart Sierra. This was the first womens match in PTW.

John Johnson defeated PTW champion Kody Rice and the Brew City Brawler in a triple threat match.

PTW commissioner for the night Jerry Lynn awards John Johnson the PTW championship title belt. Lynn made the three count after the referee was knocked out.

On the morning of this event Extreme Pro Wrestling Radio did a pod cast with a live audience. In the studio were guest Jerry Lynn and Tommy Dreamer. Lynn and Dreamer answered questions from EPWR host Big D and Isaac and then from the fans. You can listen to the pod cast by clicking here.
Luke Hawx, Scot Summers and Perry Saturn defeated Aaron Corbin, John Johnson & Arya Daivari in a 6 man tag match. Saturn pinned Daivari to get the win. This was Summers and hawx first time in MN.
Black Stallion with manager Mago beat Rhino by count out. Mago was interfering in the match so Rhino chased him outside the ring and forgot about the 10 count. After the match Rhino speared Mago.
Blue Meanie & Al Snow defeated Renny D & Craven Knyte. Snow hit Knyte with Head to get the pin. Referees really need to ban Head from ring side.
Sabu defeated Arik Cannon in an Anarky Rules match.Sabu cut Cannon open with some international object. It was 20 years ago and just a mile away from this venue when I first saw Sabu live. He wrestled the Lightning Kid (soon to be know as the 1-2-3 Kid in the WWF).
Darin Corbin defeated Tommy Dreamer in a hard core match. Yep, you read that right.
HOW champion Benjamin Sailer defeated Adam Pearce to retain the title. Pearce pulled a chain out of his boot and tried to use it on Sailer but Sailer go a hold of it and used it to win the match. The crowd was unhappy with Sailer for cheating to win.
The main event was Jerry Lynn’s last match. It was a four way match against X-Pac, JB Trask and Horace the Psychopath. These 4 guys, all over the age of 40, went all out in this match. They did dives out of the ring, broke tables and dented garbage cans. Lynn got the win after he gave Horace a cradle pile driver.

After the match all the wrestlers and HOW crew got in the ring to congratulate Lynn on his great 25 year career. JB Trask presented Lynn with a Heavy On Wrestling Hall of Fame award. This event will be available on DVD from RF Video. I've been doing this blog for over 7 years now and I thought this would be a good time to end it. So with this being Jerry Lynn's last match it will also be my last blog on here.

BCW New Brighton , MN 12/15/2012

Born Champions Wrestling returned to the Mirage bar & Grill on Saturday December 15th. This show was record by Chris Walden of cheapseatsmn.com. You can click on the link to watch the whole show.
In the opening contest Mikey Wipeout defeated Cameron Cross.
Hot Karl Clemson defeated The Prophet. Cleamson had his feet on the ropes when he pinned The Prophet but rookie ref Travis Porter was out of position to see the rule breaking.
Horace the Psychopath defeated his tag team partner Rob James to become the new BCW Twin Cities champion. These BCW tag team champions were forced to wrestle each other by BCW owner Judd Jennrich.
Renny D with Scarlett Bordeaux defeated Arik Cannon.
Venom, Ryan Cruz & Udo defeated The Entourage (Bret O’Brian, Craven Knyte, Judd Jennrich, The Savage & Adam Diesel). Venom pinned Jennrich for the win and that meant that The Entourage is no more.
Jerry Lynn defeated BCW heavy weight champion Darin Corbin to win the title. That ended Corbin’s 2 plus year reign as BCW champion.
After Jerry Lynn won the BCW title Craven Knyte came out to cash in his title shot that he won at the Tournament of Kings back in July. Lynn gave Knyte a cradle piledriver to win his first and only BCW title defense. After the match Lynn said he would have to relinquish the belt as he is retiring in March.

SDW Lakeville, MN 5/1/2010

This past Saturday night at the Lakeville South high school Steel Domain Wrestling returned to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area for the first time in over 5 years. Promoter Ed Hellier put on this "One Night Only" event for the Lakeville, MN high schools to raise funds for the grade 9 sports.
The first match of the night was a tag team match between coaches from Lakeville North and Lakeville South. The team from Lakeville North won the match and a trophy.

After the tag team match Mick Karch and Ed Hellier did a TV taping opening. Karch then introduced George Schire who then introduced The High Flyers, Greg Gagne & "Jumping" Jim Brunzell. As Gagne and Brunzell were reliving their past as AWA tag team champions they were interrupted by Mitch Paradise & Adrian Lynch.

In the official first match of the night Brain Ash defeated Gage Octane. The last time I saw these two wrestle was October 2007 in a looser leaves 3XW match. Ash lost that match and left the ring for over 2 years.

Mitch Paradise & Adrian Lynch defeated Horace the Psychopath & Red Lighting. Ann Brookstone was the referee for this match.

After the match Lynch got on the mic and called out Greg Gagne. Lynch said Greg was old and a coward. Gagne came to the ring showing now fear and he was attacked by Paradise while Lynch distracted him. Gagne got the upper hand by giving Lynch a back body drop and a drop kick to Paradise's face. Growing up I was a big fan of the High Flyers and really liked their drop kicks. It was quit a thrill to be at ring side photographing a Gagne drop kick. If you've ever seen the movie The Wrestler staring Vern Gagne you know that no one gets up after a Gagne drop kick.

Two former ROH champions faced each other in the next match. Jerry Lynn got the 3 count on Austin Aries after a cradle piledriver.

Former SDW wrestler Primetime defeated "The Law" Mark Barker in his first SDW match.

Two more wrestlers making their SDW debuts competed in the next match. Chadwick Wentworth the 3rd defeated Cpl. Julio Julio.

In the semi main event WWE's Bam Neeley (Magnus Maximus in SDW) took on current NWA heavy weight champion "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce for the vacated SDW championship. Neeley got Pearce to put the NWA belt on the line for this match. During the match Neeley tossed Pearce over the top rope and according to NWA rules that is a DQ so the NWA title stayed with Pearce.

The main event for the night was a lumber jack/hair cut match. Representing Lakeville North was "Playboy" Pete Huge with Austin Aries leading the North football players/lumber jacks out side the ring. Lakeville South was represented by Brody Hoofer in the ring and Jerry Lynn on the outside. The coach of the loosing side would have to have his head shaved after the match. Hoofer got the win for Lakeville South but in heel fashion the coach from Lakeville North made one of his football players get his hair cut instead.

F1rst Wrestling Minneapolis, MN 6/19/2009

This past Friday night at First Ave night club F1rst Wrestling presented "The Return:09". The last 3 years F1rst Wrestling has presented a returning wrestler and this year the returning wrestler was Sean "Xpac" Waltman who last appeared in a wrestling ring in Minneapolis back in '99 for WWE's Summerslam at the Target Center which is across the street from First Ave. Waltman contacted F1rst Wrestling and asked for a match on this card against Jerry Lynn, a man who Waltman wrestled against back in the early '90's here in the Minneapolis area and around the world. The two also tag together before Waltman went to the WWF.
I had some tecnical diffaculties with my camera so I was unable to photograph all the matches on this card. Big thanks to Dave Webber who let me use his camera.
In mixed tag team action "Playboy" Pete Huge and Allison Wonderland defeated Yellowdog & Sharkgirl. This was my fist time seeing both Yellowdog and Sharkgirl in action and I think this is the first time these two tagged together.

The match that was advertised as Cody O'Neill's last match was changed to a 6 man match. O'Neill teamed with Aaron Corbin and his twin Cory O'Neill while Arik Cannon had Darin Corbin & Ryan Cruz as his partners. After the suplex to the outside as shown in the photo, Aaron, Cory, Ryan and Darin fought each other to the locker room and that left just Cannon and O'neill to finish the match. Cannon got the pin on O'Neill after a glimmering warlock. The crowd gave O'Neill a standing ovation.

"6% Body Fat" Rob James defeated CZW Ultraviolent Underground Champion Danny Havok in a Minneapolis death match. This match was very bloody as Havok had a huge cut above his right eye. James got the win after a falcons arrow on to a pile of thumb tacks.

Ann Brookstone pinned Daffney in a falls count anywhere match. This match even went into the mens room where Daffney put Brookstones head in the urinal troft. YUCK!

In the main event Sean "Xpac" Waltman pinned Jerry Lynn. Before the match even started fans were chanting "This is Awesome!" And it was. Go to F1rst Wrestling's MySpace to order this DVD which should be ready in about a week or so. It will be a 2 disk set with exta interviews with Waltman and Lynn.

NLW Minneapolis, MN 5/25/2009

Northern Lights Wrestling set up their ring under the hot sun on this Sunday before Memorial Day in Minneapolis, MN. This was part of a weekend long celebration at Mayslacks bar. Man, that black canvas ring was hot!
In the opening match City Pages best Professional Wrestler in Minnesota Tommy "Spiderbaby" Saturday defeated Udo.

Ann Brookstone defeated Butchie Davis in an inter gender match.

Cory O'Neill pinned Aaron Corbin.

ROH world champion Jerry Lynn and NLW champion JB Trask wrestled to a double count out. This match was announced as a title vs title.

In the main event Horace the Psychopatch & Buddha defeated Sweat Stevie and Gene Gadaski.
