3XW Des Moines, IA 8/6/2010

For the first time since October 2007 I made my way down to Des Moines, Iowa for a 3XW card. Int the three years the 3XW roster has not changed much as many of the same guys were since the last time. One thing that has changed is the location for their events. 3XW now runs out of the Des Moines Social Club in down town Des Moines. This card was the second annual King of Des Moines tournament that featured 8 of 3XW's best wrestlers and two title matches.
There was a pre show match between Brady A. Dezire and Jon West. West was one of only two on this card that I had never seen before. Dezire won the match with a super kick.
The the first tournament match Zach Thompson defeated Nate Bash. Both men are fan favorties but Thompson was voted most popular 3XW wrestler 2009.
In the second first round match Brain Ash w/ Todd Countryman defeated Maddog McDowell. This match featured the two biggest men in 3XW.
Jeremy Wyatt defeated Benjamin Sailer in another first round match. Wyatt hit Sailer in the jimmy and rolled him up for the three count.
In the final first round match Mark Sterling defeated Devin Carter. Sterling made Carter tap out to his version of the sharp shooter.
Jeremy Wyatt advanced to the finals by defeating Zach Thompson. Thompson tapped out to Wyatt's cross face submission hold.
Mark Sterling pinned Brain Ash with Todd Countryman. Ash tried using a foriegn objest that was handed to him by Countryman but Sterling still got the win to advance to the finals.
3XW Unified Pure Wrestling Champion Jimmy Rockwell retained his belts in a six man scramble match. The other five men in the match were Casanova, Sir Bradley Charles, Hunter Matthews, Aaron Masterson and Ryan Slade.
Rory Fox sucessfully defended the 3XW Heavyweight championship against Ricky Kwong with Chad Mylan. Fox was featured in Mtv's True Life: I'm a pro wrestler show a few years back.
In the King of Des Moines finals Mark Sterling defeated Jeremy Wyatt in a 30 minute plus match.
Mark Sterling, 2010 King of Des Moines. He now gets all his extra value meals super sized at any fast food resturant in Des Moines and a really big trophy.

3XW Adel, IA 10/27/2007

3XW held Halloween Horror II on Saturday October 27th, 2007 in Adel, Iowa at the Dallas county fair grounds community center.
Ryan Slade & the Welfare Check Connection defeated Jimmy Rockwell, Ricky Kwong & Brady A. Dezire. I was surprised to see the cow pants that Dezire wears in the locker room as it's been about 3 years since I've seen him up in Minnesota with MPW.
3XW cruiser weight champion Casanova beat Shane Hollister to retain the belt.
3XW Pure Wrestling champion Maddog McDowell defeated Krotch to retain the title.
Bryce Benjamin beat Dan Lawrence to win the new 3XW Alternative title in a hard core match. Benjamin didn't actually wrestle in this match as he had an injured shoulder. Ryan Slade, Aaron Masterson and Zach Thompson did all the wrestling for Bryce and that was ok as this this was a hard core match and there are no DQ's in a hard core match.
The Northstar Express retained the 3XW tag team title in a ladder match against Nate Bash & Benjamin Sailer.
Jaysin Strife beat Stephen Saint.
3XW heavy weight champion Devin Carter defended his belt twice in one night as he first defeated Knight Wagner then Mark Sterling.
Gage Octane beat Brain Ash in a looser leaves 3XW match.

AWA RUSH Mankato, MN 7/27/2007

Gator's Last Stand was the name of the card held by AWA Pro Wrestling RUSH this last Friday at the Eagles Club in Mankato, MN. This was a new venue for RUSH and the place was packed for Cowboy Gator Magraws last match as he was retiring due to injuries.
The Junk Squad beat the Northstar Express to retain the AWA RUSH tag team titles.
Tag team partners Benjamin Sailer and Jasyin Strife wrestled against each other in an exhibition match to prepare them selves for a rematch with the Junk Squad. There was no winner in this match as the Junk Squad attacked Sailer and Strife.
The feud between student and teacher continued as Shimdog took on Jake Taylor in a strap match. There was no winner in this match as both men touched the 4th turnbuckle pad at the same time.
Arya Daivari beat Devin Carter to become the new AWA RUSH YouTube champion.
Arik Cannon beat Aaron Corbin. After the match Cannon poured some drain clog remover stuff on Corbin's face.
Joey Envy retained the AWA RUSH championship against Horace the psychopath when the ref reversed the original decision and Horace was disqualified.
In his last match Gator Magraw beat his long time nemesis and former partner Casanova.
It was a little over 4 years ago when I first photographed Magraw in action at a Neo Pro card in Cottage Grove, MN. He was a little thinner then.

AWA RUSH Faribault, MN6/15/2007

From Spikes bar in Faribault, MN AWA Pro WrestlingRUSH held their first card in a place that NPW used to run not to long ago. This was the second night of RUSH's first double shot weekend. I was unable to make it to the first night which was at their home venue of the Bandana Brewery in Mankato, MN. I hate smoky bars.
In the opening match 'The Professional' Benjamin Sailer defeated Matty Star.
In the second match '6% body fat' Rob James was the winner against Zac James by DQ. Ref Tad Taylor DQed Zac when he used a hand weight that Rob brings to the ring to hit Rob. These two wrestlers are not related.
Arik Cannon beat Jasyin Strife.
In a 6 man tag match the team of the New Junk Squad & Jake Taylor beat Shimdog, Venom & Donnie Peppercricket. This was my first time seeing Peppercricket.
The Northstar Express beat the O'Neill Twinz.
The AWA RUSH Youtube champion Devin Carter retained his title when the match against Arya Daivari went to a time limit draw. You can go to Youtube.com to watch this match.
AWA RUSH champion Joey Envy beat Aaron Corbin with his superkick in a no DQ match. In the move of the night the wrestlers took the match over to the pool tables and Envy used a cue stick to put Corbins ball in the corner pocket.

AWA RUSH Mankato, MN 4/5/2007

Last Thursday night I made my way down to Mankato, MN to photograph AWA Pro Wrestling RUSH at the Bandanna Brewery for the first time. Cowboy Gator Magraw started RUSH back in October 2006 and has been running monthly cards from the same place. I was going to go to last months card but it was cancelled because of a blizzard. I was taking posed shots so I was not able to photograph all the matches on this night.
The first match of the night was a triple threat match between Arik Cannon, Casanova and Rob James. The match started with a Casanova special challenge which was a joke telling contest. Cannon won the challenge with a dirty joke and got the pin on Rob James after a brain buster.
Shimdog beat Matty Star.
Joessiah, "Hollywood" Brian Sager, & The Prophet beat Zak James, Benjamin Sailer, & Jake Taylor.
Gator Magraw was suppose to wrestle the team of Pete Huge & Kleck Micheals with a 'mystery partner' but no one showed up to the ring with Gator. With the help of a Joey Envy super kick Pete Huge got the pin on Magraw.
AWA RUSH Youtube champion Devin Carter retained his title against Jaysin Strife.
In a special Ladies match Rain beat Mystik.
AWA RUSH champion Chris Jordan beat El Viejo to retain his belt.

3XW Waukee, IA 12/2/2006

From the Waukee middle school in Waukee, Iowa 3XW presented Holiday Havoc. The event was off to a late start as the truck hauling the ring broke down so the ring crew had to rush to get the ring up. 4 of the matches on this card were first round matches in an 8 man tourney to crown a new 3XW heavy weight champion as the former champion Egotistical Fantastico is on his way to the WWE's Deep South promotion.
The 3XW ring crew putting the ring together.
Hunter Matthews beat Zack Thompson. This was Matthews debut match.
In the first tournament match of the night Devin Carter beat Tyler Cook. This was my first time seeing Cook and he kind of reminded me of Larry Sweeney but less flamboyant.
Krotch (yep his name is Krotch) pinned Bryce Benjamin with a small package. Krotch is another wrestler on the card tonight that I had not seen before but he looked pretty familiar as he reminded me of MN wrestler Kid Krazy.
Machine beat Tristan Hayze. Here were two more wrestlers I had not seen or heard of before.
In the second tournament match of the night Gage Octane beat tag team champion Nate Bash. He did have a little help from his fellow Blue Chippers Brain Ash and Austin Bayless.
3XW womans champion Ann Brookstone beat Allison Wunderland. This was my first time seeing Wunderland in the ring.
Ann Brookstone complained that the very Green Wunderland was not enough competition so out came Bryce Benjamin to challenge Brookstone for her belt. Benjamin renamed the tittle the Wo Man championship as in Whoa Man.
In the third tournament match of the night former 3XW heavyweight champion Brain Ash defeated 3XW cruiser weight champion/3XW tag team champion Benjamin Sailer.
Team Northstar Express (Ryan Cruz, Darin Corbin, Casanova & Ryan Slade) beat Team Future (Dan Lawrence, Arya Daivari, Aaron Masterson & Ricky Kwong) in a survivor tag match. Three more wrestlers I photographed for the first time.
In the final match of the first round to crown the new 3XW heavyweight champion Tony Scarpone beat Jeremy Wyatt.
